Long exposure seascape – Birnbeck Pier

Settings: 34mm – f/11 – ISO100 – 171sec. 10 stop filter.

OK, back to water, and once again success with the very last shot I took after a day of poor images otherwise. I spent the afternoon in Weston-Super-Mare taking unspectacular images of the main pier and the town. I had intended to stay in the main town to take a sunset shot of the main pier on the beach, but the sunset never really came. At the last minute, I decided to take the risk to move onto a different pier I had not been to before (a few minutes around the corner), just to see what I could get.

I am really pleased with how it turned out. I am learning really that long exposure can really save you if you have not been successful with ‘regular’ photography. I think it can be dangerous to rely on it though, and so I am going to try and be a bit selective in when I use it.

It is too tempting though.
