First trip: Clifton Suspension Bridge at night

My first proper trip out with the new camera. I do love a good bridge, so for Bristolians there really isn’t anywhere better to go than Brunel’s Clifton Suspension Bridge.

Early on, working out what to do with settings is huge. My little point and shoot camera I had before had a night mode that actually took excellent night shots, so having to judge apertures, ISOs and shutter speeds is entirely new.

Settings: 18mm – f/8 – ISO100 – 13secs. No filter.

First thing to say, I had not got into shooting in RAW yet, so this image was taken in JPG. Other than a tiny bit of brightening, it’s had very  little editing at all. As a first shot, I was super pleased with it, and it definitely got me motivated to go straight out.
