Mini-victory on access to Torbay Council meetings

A little bit of success to report. Last week I had difficulty getting into the Torbay Council Overview & Scrutiny meeting, due to start at Torquay Town Hall at 5.30pm, as the Town Hall doors closed at 5.00pm and access was not possible. I only managed to get in as one of the Councillors happened to come in with a door pass. This wasn’t the first time this had happened, either…

Torbay Council responded to my complaint via Twitter, and today I have received confirmation that the door will remain open for the duration of public meetings taking place in the Town Hall in the future.

A victory for the democratic process in Torbay. Many thanks to ‘NR’ at Torbay Council for resolving this issue so swiftly.
